Biography

Kara Smigel, M.S., has been supporting the scientific programs of the National Cancer Institute Division of Cancer Prevention since 2000. She coordinates and supports all aspects of scientific engagement and liaises with divisions and offices across the institute. The broad scope of her work includes writing and editing of reports and responses, preparing research highlights, summarizing key accomplishments of grantees, and managing divisional websites. Prior to joining the division in 2000, she worked for 12 years at the NCI Reports Section, serving as a Senior Writer/Editor and as an associate editor for the Journal of National Cancer Institute News.
