The role of obesity in prostate cancer risk is unclear. Many studies point to men with obesity having a lower overall risk, but a greater risk of aggressive disease and death. As the most common cancer (other than skin cancer) in men both in the United States and worldwide, more research is urgently needed.

Over the course of two one-hour webinars, four experts addressed

  1. what is known regarding the epidemiology, nutrition, and basic and clinical science of prostate cancer risk;
  2. gaps in our current understanding; and
  3. challenges and possible approaches to close the gaps.
